GD-TEAM has joined the Košice IT Valley Workshop Programme, which is aimed at promoting employment in the IT sector in Eastern Slovakia. A simple, yet extremely effective programme, through which companies can prepare topics and schools can choose the most interesting ones for them, has received positive reviews. Our workshops on SAP have attracted the attention of the Secondary Technical School in Snina and the Business Academy in Košice. It is the Secondary Technical School in Snina that has SAP in its curriculum, in the framework of computer science, which only strengthened the interest of the students in this workshop. “We were very pleasantly surprised by the participation of students and their interest. It wasn’t just about our lectures, but you could see that the boys in particular were interested in learning something more that they don‘t get a chance to learn in the classroom. The questions and comments were really very direct,” said HR Manager Maroš Mucha at the beginning. “It has to be said that teachers do not have great knowledge about the system they are trying to introduce to students and in this context, after discussions with school principals, we have offered a helping hand and I believe that not only educating teachers, but also direct involvement in the learning process can become a reality from our side. There is really a great potential in the students, and I see this as a continuation of our junior programme, with good prospects for the future. It should be added that secondary schools are at a different starting line than universities and are grateful for any support for the teaching process. It is definitely worth creating such collaborations and we want to continue this,” added Maroš Mucha.
Through practical problem solving with demonstrations, we have introduced the SAP economic information system and also the development part of SAP. We also stressed the need for the studying of German language.
