SDM Domino is one of the largest youth football clubs in Slovakia. They focus their football attention mainly on youth categories. They try to implement the entire educational and sports process in a Salesian style in accordance with Christian values. The founder of the Salesians of Don Bosco is the Italian priest John Bosco, who dedicated his life to the service of abandoned youth in Turin. His work inspired the creation of various works. One of them is SDM Domino.
Currently, the club has more than 550 PLAYERS registered in 25 youth teams and one senior team. The training units are 4 to 5 times a week, and during the weekend they participate in league matches, pre-tournaments, or younger teams in tournaments. The training process is provided by more than 44 coaches. Each team is assigned a team leader and an animator who tries to help them with educational aspects. Meetings are held once a month for pre-tournaments, where, in addition to presenting the club’s mission, we also try to take care of their development, interests and personality. From higher categories onwards, weekly meetings are organized after training, where life and its varieties are stressed with the help of a short discussion and role models. The club prepares players not only for football, but also for life.
The aim of the club is to encourage good behaviour in young people. In this spirit, they create an atmosphere at matches, but also in interpersonal relationships. The first persons to be role models are the club managers and coaches. The club wants that also parents, fans who visit their site cheer decently and at the same time treat the opponent with dignity and respect. Everyone is trying together – coaches, football players, parents, fans – to develop a CLUB where young people have regard for the elderly and the elderly help young people. They want to create a community where they can really help each other on the job, support each other during the match, but they also give them a helping hand in their personal life. GD-TEAM was happy to help this “mission” in the club.
