The integrated information system of the Bratislava Water Company (BVS a.s., JSC) won the prestigious European SAP Quality Awards. The project coordinator and project implementor is the Slovak consulting company gd-Team.
Bratislava, 10 December 2018: SAP gives the prestigious SAP Quality Awards every year to customers that excelled in the implementation of SAP software solutions. The second place in the “Fast delivery” category was the historically first SAP Quality Awards in this category, which was won by a Slovak company.
Increased efficiency, streamlining of processes, online availability of complex data and considerably improved user value for end-customers. And all this in the required quality, at the reasonable time and in continuous operation. The Bratislava Water Company has been considering how to further develop its IT systems since 2012. “As one of the companies that develops the critical infrastructure of the region, naturally, we considered several options that would best meet our requirements. One of them was the implementation of an SAP-based system, which we evaluated as the most appropriate solution. SAP-based systems are the standard in network industries, which are used approximately by 80% of major European suppliers from these sectors,” says Ing. “We are very happy that BVS has chosen an SAP solution and gd-Team as the professional implementor. In the project we have used our more than ten years of experience with the implementation of the SAP system for clients in the field of network industries in Germany,” said Ing. Erik Gottschall, Director and founder of gd-Team, a.s. (JSC). “High-quality and fast implementation of the system would not be possible if we did not have an absolutely professional team of our consultants and a quality SAP product. On the other hand – at the customer, we met with the management, who was convinced of the importance of changing the system and its positive impact on the future operation of the company. This combination is a major advantage for any project,” adds Erik Gottschall.
The key challenges of the project were to consolidate existing systems, achieve higher user comfort and improve data quality and availability, as faster and more efficient decision-making contributes to the better management of companies and organizations. gd-Team came up with a proposal for a combination of ERP modules for enterprise resource and process management with IS-U modules developed by SAP especially for companies providing network services such as the water industry.
Immediately after a sharp start in early 2018, the new integrated system started to show its positive effects. “The INTEGRIS system has functionalities that streamline many in-house processes, streamline data processing while, at the same time, providing better communication with end-customers. Although it goes without saying that each system has its running-in phase for some time, INTEGRIS is optimized continuously according to the incoming requirements of its users and performance. Our parent company has a high-quality and robust system that is modellable and open to the deployment of new functionalities and offers a new analytics quality for the decision-making processes of top management,” explains Ing. Milan Hutkai, Managing Director of Infra Services, a.s. (JSC), a subsidiary of BVS, which managed the implementation of the new IT system in the company.
The European SAP Quality Awards, which the Bratislava Water Company received in cooperation with Infra Services and gd-Team, is the result of high-quality cooperation of all participating teams. It is not easy to be successful in such a strong competition of projects from European countries. “This achievement means that BVS has quality, flexible and stable software in place to help companies develop and implement new services for their customers.
