Supporting children with speech problems

ASOBI means a game in Japanese. It is considered a dominant developmental activity in the process of gaining communication skills. Its advantage is that the child is naturally motivated. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to support children with speech problems who attend this special kindergarten.

At ASOBI Kindergarten, they have children with a wide range of problems, which are manifested by difficulties in the field of speech expression, often it is not just a bad pronunciation, but a number of other problems that cause children speech problems.
Because a child who does not speak or has difficulties with speech is at a disadvantage and finds it frustrating that those around him do not understand him. A child with a speech impediment may be underestimated, seen as below average or developmentally delayed by adults or other children.

The Kindergarten provides children with a foundation for the development of language and intellectual capacity during plays. The Kindergarten is staffed only by early childhood and preschool development specialists who receive continuing education in child development.
In the preschool classroom, they provide comprehensive preparation for children’s schooling, not only in terms of knowledge.
ASOBI is based on the idea of combining and stimulating a child’s neuromotor and psychomotor development, i.e. gross motor skills stimulation, fine motor skills stimulation, oromotor stimulation and vestibular stimulation.
The Kindergarten regularly organizes (as far as possible) cultural programmes for children, such as various performances (theatre, clowns, concerts), visits to cultural institutions (libraries, museums). But above all, it focuses on the development of the child in all aspects, with an emphasis on skills in which the child is lagging behind.

A team of professionals (a speech therapist, a special educator, a therapeutic educator) work daily with the children in groups but also individually so that the children have the best care. And their results are noticeable and tangible in the case of every child who attends the Kindergarten.
Thanks to its status as a medical facility, the Kindergarten could fully operate during individual COVID lockdowns, providing children with continuous care so that they do not “lose”  the precious developmental time at an early age.
You can also find more information about the Kindergarten at asobi.sk, or on the ASOBI FB profile.
